Manager Getting Started: Your First Week Checklist
What this article is
You are a BPS Admin. In the system, that makes you a Manager. You run training for your own brokerage location: your agents, your teams, your reports. This checklist covers what to do in your first week so your agents can start training on day one. One thing to know up front: Managers do not have the Super User Dashboard, and you do not need it. Everything in this checklist is work you can do yourself, from your own menus. System setup, like branding, the sign in page, and integrations, is handled above your level. If you need a change there, ask BPS support.Day 1: Learn your way around
- Sign in with your own username and password.
- Set a password only you know.
- Open the Slider Menu and find Management Tools. That is where your Manager work lives.
- Open each area once: your user list, Assign Training, and your reports. You will use these every week.
Day 2: Add your agents
- Add each agent to your location. See the article Adding an Agent to Your Location.
- Give each agent the Agent access level and the content roles for the training they should see.
- If you have a full roster to add, use the bulk import instead. See Bulk Importing Your Roster.
- Double check that every agent sits in your location before you move on. An agent in the wrong location will not see your assignments.
Day 3: Set up your teams
- Create a team for each group you manage day to day. See Setting Up Teams in Your Location.
- Name a team leader for each team.
- Add the right agents to each team.
- Teams make assignments and reports faster, so set them up before you assign anything.
Day 4: Turn on the right courses and assign training
- Check which courses are on for your location. Turn off anything your agents should not see yet. See Turning Courses On or Off for Your Location.
- Assign the first courses to your agents or teams. Set a due date on each one. See Assigning Training to Your Agents.
- Let the system send the assignment notices, and tell your agents in person or by email that training is waiting for them.
Day 5: Set your reporting habit
- Open the Course Report and the Location Content Report. See Checking Progress: Course Report and Location Content Report.
- Pick one day each week to check progress. Most Managers use Monday.
- Learn where submitted work waits for your review, so essays and files never sit too long.
- Open the Usage Report once so you know where time spent training is recorded. See Reading Time and Tracker Results.
Your weekly rhythm after week one
- Add new agents the day they start.
- Assign training with due dates, never without them.
- Check reports on your chosen day.
- Review submitted work the same week it comes in.
- Deactivate agents the day they leave. See Deactivating an Agent Who Leaves.
