# Turning Courses On or Off for Your Location

> Your location has its own course catalog. A course that is on shows up for your agents. A course that is off stays hidden. You control that switch for your own.

# Turning Courses On or Off for Your Location

## What this job is

Your location has its own course catalog. A course that is on shows up for your agents. A course that is off stays hidden. You control that switch for your own location, in your Location Settings. Use it to keep your agents focused: turn on what they should take now, turn off what is not for them yet, and your Training Center stays clean instead of overwhelming.

This switch works at the location level only. The course itself still exists for the whole system. You are choosing what your agents see, not changing the course for anyone else.

## Turn a course on or off

1. Open your Location Settings.
2. Find the content or course list for your location.
3. Find the course or category you want to change. Categories group courses, so one switch can cover a whole set.
4. Turn the switch on to show it, or off to hide it.
5. Save your changes.
6. Sign in as an agent would, or ask one of your agents, and confirm the course now shows or hides the way you intended.

Check the result every time. A saved switch you never looked at from the agent side is a guess, not a setting.

## When to turn courses off

* A course is built for a group your agent is not in, like a team leader course showing for brand new agents.
* You are rolling training out in stages and stage two should stay hidden until stage one is done.
* A course is being replaced. Turn the old one off when the new one goes on, so agents do not take the wrong one.

## When to turn courses back on

Turn the next stage on as soon as your agents are ready, and assign it with a due date at the same time. A course that is on but never assigned often sits untouched. See Assigning Training to Your Agents.

## What you cannot do yourself

Changing content at the whole system level, like editing a course, retiring it for every location, or changing how courses are grouped above your location, runs above Manager level. If a course is broken, named wrong, or should not exist at all, do not try to fix it from your settings. Ask BPS support, and use your location switch to hide it from your agents in the meantime.

## What success looks like

An agent signing in to your location sees a short, clear list of courses that are meant for them, and nothing else. Your catalog matches your training plan.

## Common problems

**You turned a course on and agents still cannot see it.** The course also depends on content roles. Check that the agent has the content role the course belongs to. See Adding an Agent to Your Location.

**You turned a course off and an agent was halfway through it.** Their past progress is not deleted. Turn the course back on if they need to finish, and give them a date to be done before you hide it again.

**A course you need is not in your list at all.** If it is missing from your location list entirely, it has not been released to your location. Ask BPS support to release it.
