# Getting Started and Signing In

## What BPS is

BPS stands for Brokerage Performance Suite. It is where your training lives. You sign in, take your courses, track your progress, and connect with other agents in the community.

In BPS you only manage yourself. Your account, your courses, and your progress are yours. You never add, change, or reset another person's account. If something needs a change you cannot reach, ask your Manager.

## What you need before you start

You need the username and password from your welcome email. Keep that email until you have signed in and set your own password.

## How to sign in

1. Open the BPS sign in page.
2. Type your username.
3. Type your password.
4. Click Sign In.

The first screen you see is the Main Menu. That is your home base. You can get back to it from almost anywhere in the system.

## Set your own password

Change your password the first time you sign in. Pick one only you know.

The system checks every new password against a set of rules. Follow the rules shown on the screen. In general:

1. Make it long.
2. Mix upper case and lower case letters.
3. Add numbers or symbols.
4. Do not use common words, your name, or your brokerage name.

Do not share your password with anyone. One login works on one device at a time. If you sign in on a second device, the first device is signed out. Sharing a login can also lock the account, so keep your login to yourself.

## A quick tour of the Main Menu

From the Main Menu you can reach:

* The Training Center, where your courses are
* Your assignments and what is due
* My Report Card, where your progress lives
* Your certificates and licenses
* The leaderboard
* The community

Click through each area once on day one. Knowing where things are will save you time every week after.

## The Training Center

The Training Center holds every course you can take. Courses are grouped by category. Some courses are open for anyone to take. Others are assigned to you by your Manager and come with due dates.

To open a course:

1. Open the Training Center from the Main Menu.
2. Pick the category, then the course.
3. Click the course name to open it.

## If your account locks

Too many wrong password tries will lock your account. The screen will tell you the account is locked.

1. Stop trying passwords. More tries will not unlock it.
2. Contact your Manager and tell them your account is locked.
3. Your Manager can unlock your account and, if needed, reset your password.
4. Sign in again with the new password, then set your own password right away.

Never borrow another agent's login to get around a lock. That can lock their account too.

## What success looks like

You can sign in on your own, your password is one only you know, and you can find the Training Center, your assignments, and My Report Card from the Main Menu without help.
